Q, As a caregiver, how often to I need to be in the hospital to make sure that a loved one gets the best care and that there are no mess ups?

A. On the one hand, we need to chose a quality institution and trust that the hospital gives the care that the patient needs. But on the other, there are no guarantees and no rules other than, "as much as possible." Clearly communication and trust with the doctor and nursing staff is a must. But mistakes are human, and usually a person cannot be there 24/7 for a loved one. Just be there as much as possible and again, balance it with trust in the hospital staff and God, in whichever order you prefer.

Here is a testimonial:

I went to the Hospital for my father a year ago, He was suffering from pains and the family were under a lot of stress and doing everything to get him the best care. An hour after being administered morphine, the nurse came by with
different painkillers in his hand and was about to administer my already drugged father a dangerous doses. I asked the nurse, "what are these for?" He said, "so he stays asleep."

Great, just keep him asleep, The main point is not to bother the overworked nursing staff ...
You want someone to be well? You are praying like crazy for someone's health? Try being kinder to them and don't forget how hard it is for the patient's main caregiver. Remember, it is SO important for the hospital staff to be kind and patient with the caregivers, I mean family or friends, as well as the patient.  And all of the friends need to remember this too.

Kindness is the best thing to foster health.

Keep your cool. and if you make a mistake, you are only human.

Blessings for good heath.
